I’m So Glad I’m in America Right Now

Last year, I became a US citizen.

Looking at this photograph now, I keep coming back to one thought:

I’m so glad I’m in America right now.

That may sound strange if all you see are the headlines. I’m not blind to them.

But from where I’m standing, this is also one of the most interesting places in the world to be.

The companies here are moving fast. New tools. New forms of production. New jobs are being created that never existed before.

Assumptions about what a small team can create are being rewritten in real time.

Being close to that change feels like a gift.

I’m not watching it arrive from a distant shore. I’m working in it, at the edge of a huge movement.

I’ve always wondered what it would have felt like to be around during the cultural revolution of the 1960s. I feel like we’re about to embark on a creative revolution of the 2020s.

I’m not interested in using technology simply to make video faster and cheaper. We did that years ago with mobile phone cameras.

My experience in luxury made me think differently: the goal was always to create something beautiful.

That is my goal.

For the first time in my career, I can finally combine my two loves: the art of film and the possibilities of technology.

I believe the next shift will be toward story worlds.

Brands won’t just make individual campaigns. They’ll build recurring characters, places and relationships—worlds that grow richer over time, invite interaction and give audiences a reason to return.

That’s what I’m working on: film craft, intelligent production systems, and characters designed to live beyond a single piece of content.

I’m not sure I could build this anywhere else.
